Well, not really. This is pretty humorous, so I thought I'd share.
A couple years ago, one of our dogs became infected with a nasty parasite. My wife does work at a veterinary clinic, so she reached out to several other vets in an attempt to identify the parasite in order to rid it from our dog. In the process, my wife (who shows dogs as a hobby) posted on her Facebook page to keep her "dog friends" up to date.
A real Dr of Veterinary medicine ran across my wife's info and reached out to her and asked my wife to send him any clinical results from our dogs treatment. My wife submitted the records and a short video that was taken when the parasite was eventually surgically removed and identified through analysis. The resulting work was published in various Veterinary Journals by this Vet.
This is apparently how my wife's e-mail got out and now she gets e-mails requesting her research work. She is now referred in these e-mails as Dr. or Professor! Fortunately, my wife used one of our "junk e-mails" for her submittals, so it is not a big deal that it is now getting spammed. We look often just to get a chuckle from the requests of my "Professor Dr"!
