Mystery sound

Prairie chickens, grouse, partridge, ditch chickens what ever you want to call them that's the sound I bet. I always compared it to a basketball coming rest on a wood gym floor. Tasty little buggers they are!

Any moonshiners up there? I'd say it's probably a grouse. I used to hear the same thing growing up in CT. Strange until we learned it was probably grouse.
