Accept it for what it is, and be amazed at what it can do, and still be 60 years old. I don't think I'd want to pay $10000 for it though.

If I had a "family" tractor that had sentimental value I could see sending to N-Complete for a re-manufacture. Other than that...it appears you can get a mid-50's Ford that has been refurbished or restored with engine overhaul and new paint for probably $3,000-$3,500+.

Seems the formula is kind of like old car restoration...by a "fixer-uper" for say $1,500-$2,000...put $2,000-$3,000 into it (not counting your labor)...and sell it for $3,500!

That is what I am looking for...preferably an 860 or 861...but also looking at Jubilee/NAA/600s/601s...and most between 1953 and 1964. Restored with nice paint...does not have to be show condition...but nearly so. Price $3,000 and up based upon work done w/documentation as well as history and features.

In Minnesota or?...keep me posted as to the real good one...I also might buy a real nice original and work on myself...using local talent :)

860/861 or one of their "brothers"...Tom R in Two Harbors, MN...could buy some distance away...just a little harder...TMR

keep in mind that for less than a couple g's you can add a bucket, ps, and rops and remotes to that 8n. I personally wouldn't.. I'd move up to a 660/661 or an 861/861 and get one with factory ps.. then add the bucket and rops and a remote..

I have targeted 660/661 or 860/861 for the 5 spd/live pto...would be great to find one with factory power steering...I know PS was an option but did many get that option?...or is it quite rare?

To add FEL...do you have to find an old one? Or are there new(er) loaders that fit well and operate within the power limits of these early Fords. I would like at least the ability to add FEL if that made sense...some of those with FEL look pretty strange...I am guessing some are made to fit after the fact.

Thanks for all the info...I am learning. Tom R

i'm not sure if any new ones fit the older models.. but there is no shortage of older loaders out there.

yep.. some are odd.. like the jungle gym loaders.. :)

the N series and NAA were harder to hang loaders on due to limited bolt places. the 00/01+ series had more hard points to mount loaders to.

PS was available as an option in 55 with the 00 series.. but became more available in 57 with the 01 series..
