I found a nail in the tire and I have water filled tires, what is the best way to repair it. I could try to plug myself, or take it to the tire store for a patch, but how do they deal with the water inside? Or should I take it to the dealer?

If you don't want to do it yourself, take it to a tire shop that's accustomed to working on tractor tires (you can call first to ask) and I'll bet they're so accustomed to tires with water that it'll be no problem for them. Since you mention a plug, I assume you have tubeless tires. If not, a plug will not work.

I bought a plug gun from JC Whitney years ago for plugging holes in tubeless tires. I've used it many times with no future leaks. If you have tubeless tires that are water filled, Get yourself a plug gun. I found they work better than the cheapy tire plug tool that pushes a straight plug in. The plug gun uses a plug that has what I call an umbrella hat. Rotate the tire so the hole is up, remove the nail, air up the tire, insert the gun nozzle which you have preloaded a plug into, pump the gun handle which forces the plug through the gun nozzle into the hole, then pull out the plug gun. The plug remains in the tire in place of the nail hole.

Daniel, welcome to TBN. Not trying to be smart, but is it actually leaking? Sometimes I find a nail, and pull it out, and it never leaked. Sometimes you get lucky.

If it is leaking when you pull the nail, rotate the tire so the hole is at the top and air only is escaping. Get the gummy worm plug kit (avail at most auto stores, wally world, etc) and plug it. I had to do mine last weekend.

Thanks guys, yes the tire is losing air especially with the weight of the BH being on. That's a great idea to turn the hole in the tire up and plug it ,thanks again.

Since you have a backhoe, lift the tire off the ground when you get ready to plug it.

Ya, don't do what I did and drag a three ton floor jack out to the middle of the woods to remove the front tire with a nail in it when you have a FEL. Oh well hard lessons stick with you longer.
