Re: Naming Tractors /SUPERBABY
Hi Steve,
Sometimes a name just "comes along".
While I was first looking at tractors, I was showing the JD compact-tractor literature to an aquaintance. He says, humorously, " Oh, ..you're gonna get a BABY tractor!" Grrr! /w3tcompact/icons/mad.gif
Turns out he grew up on a multi-beaucoup acre place, where they used 8-wheeled monster ag-tracs, and he thinks these new compact-tractors are "cute" /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif .
I had been studyiing at TBN U. for awhile by then, and had a few ideas, courtesy of Mark Chalkley and such.
So I says, "Well, at least it'll be a SUPER-baby, when I get it finished!
After that,, whenever we'd see each other, he'd ask "Hey, ...how's that SUPERBABY coming along?"
And soon enough, I was responding in the same terms, as I described each new idea I'd had for SUPERBABY. /w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif
Well, the months went by, the tractor was ordered, and spent more time being fitted-out to become my "improved" version of a JD4700 HST.
And the more macho it became, the more respectfully he spoke of that "baby" tractor. /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif
So now SUPERBABY sits in the drive, and calling it anything else just wouldn't fit!
( ...and NOBODY mistakes it for an ordinary baby ANYTHING!! /w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif /w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif )
So hang-in-there, ...something will "come along"!
