Narrowed Meyer snow plow?

Has anyone gone through narrowing a truck snow plow to fit a compact tractor? If so are there any precautions that I should be aware of. I would like to cut around 10 to 11" off each side of a 78" Meyer poly plow and use it on my BX2200 with a loader bucket mount. Mark

I cut down a 96" truck plow down to 80" to fit my B2410. I just cut out the curved bracing on each end that follows the moldboard contour and moved it in 8" from each end, then wacked off what ever was left sticking out on each end. I also removed three of the five trip springs to make the plow trip when I felt it should. Mine is mounted in the bucket and I love this set-up. This set-up makes my plowing easy and I can have the use of just the bucket in about two minutes. I think if you do a search for "plow in the bucket" or "plow to bucket" another member here (Thomas) has some pics of his set-up. Mine is similar.

You might want to check out the "Someone with a 4100 and 54" front blade" post in the JD owning and operating section. dj1701 had a meyers plow cut down for his 4115...

Not quite understanding the size of your machine /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif I ask why would you cut it down? I have a 20hp compact and it handles the 7' plow just fine. the width of my unit is 49" if I remember right.
