I found the Befco T30 series and the CCM both in 34" widths. I'm wondering if I could get a narrow tiller and then till my sweet corn with my tractor either by tinkering with the offset and the row spaceing.

Has anyone out there removed a gang of tines so they could till on either side of a row of corn? Wouldn't that make the roter unbalanced or at low speeds would it make any difference at all?

I would like to find one that is only 30" wide that would sit square behind the tractor. I think I could then straddle two rows of corn with the tires and till between them..........sounds fun to me...:D

The tines are bolted on so maybe taking some off to get the width you want will work.

The BCS tiller and Grillo tiller has and option that allows you to weed between rows with tiller which is made by the R2 Rinaldi company of italy and it is offered by the earthtools.com folks

It may be available for a scut kubota

You may not be able to avoid damaging the plants due to the tiller cross shaft ann be limited to a short weeding window in time

I take the tines off mine all the time for different applications. No big deal. Ken Sweet

I use my cultivator for weeding my sweet corn. Also take a look at the eco weeder for weeding row crops. There is a video on Youtube of it in use. I know a farmer that has one it and claims it to be amazing.

JD, Simplicity, and others make 30" tillers to go behind their garden tractors that are that small in width. A narrow tiller isn't going to do you much good if the tractor axles, or tiller shaft are wider than the rows. That is why you see the older tractors in "HI" versions with cultivators.
