After looking and reading a lot about my next tractor purchase I am thinking about buying a DK65C. This tractor will mainly be used for bushhog work pulling either a 10' or 12' mower. My main concern is dealer support, it appears that my closet dealer would be about 100 miles away. With not trailer or truck large enough to haul the beast, I am concerned about warranty problems and having to pay to have it hauled. I have a Massey dealer about 20 miles away and currently own a smaller Massey. Any thoughts? I really like the tractor and comparing it to Kubota, Massey, NH, JD it seems like a great tractor for the money.

No matter what the brand, I've learned the hard way that if you do not have a dealer close to you, it generally turns out to be a bad deal. Not only is it literally impossible for another brand dealer to do any warranty work for you, they generally are less than helpful to even work on a brand that they compete against.

Did you run the "dealer search" feature at Kioti.com?

Yes, this one seemed to be nearer than the others.

Maybe one of the tractor dealers will pick the line up. It's a gamble though. When I bought my tractor last year there was only one dealer within 50 miles, and when I stopped by they really had nothing, and it didn't appear that this could be a long lived business. I was at a Fair this past weekend, and found out the local Massey/Agco dealers picked up the line. I have heard a lot of good things about this dealer, so maybe...

I live in Franklin, TN on a farm. This tractor is for another farm I own in Lynnville, TN. Lynnville is in southern middle TN in Giles county. It is off I-65 about 20 miles north of the Alabama state line.

Buckhornfarm,

I can tell you this much,,,,,, you are on the right track!! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I have a 12' Bush hog on mine and mow in 9th gear. Tractor is a very well laid out machine.

I have a NH, JD, & MF dealers within 5 miles of me, but still chose the Kioti over them and he (dealer) is about 30 miles away. I did have my own truck and trailer to tow it if need be, but recently sold the truck.

I too owned a smaller Massey before selling it and buying the DK65.

Your right, it is a great tractor for the money!! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

So far I have never needed to take the tractor to the dealer,,,, about 365 hours on it if I remember correctly. /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

I will be more than happy to answer any questions you have about them,,, either on here or private message.

Good choice if you decide to go this route, RedDog

I can tell you that I haven't had any warranty issues so for with over 200 hours on my CK20HST.
I would attempt to make some type of deal with that dealer to handle getting your tractor there for X amt. of time if something goes wrong, but it's really not all that likely. The Perkins diesel is a good proven engine, and the tractor is a very well laid out, strong tractor.
If you notice on TBN, you rarely read about any problems with the engines of any of the brands. It's usually something else that most any tractor mechanic can fix easily.
If you buy from a distant dealer, I would make sure to buy enough filters and other service goods in advance to hold you through several services. Of course you can always order from the dealer, and Kioti will ship them to your door in usually only a few days. John
