I am considering a backhoe attachment for my LK3054. I know the frame mounted units are better but how do they compare to the 3 PH models in price and performance. I bought a trailer park and the soil is real sandy. I need to replace a lot of the water and sewer lines, dig up some stumps, dig some drainage ditches, etc. Would like to find something used if possible. I am in middle TN by the way.

I have the TLB version of your machine and really like the factory hoe. Four point mount with strong frame, easy on and off. I would stay away from three point hoe, can put some nasty torque on the machine, lots of slop also. I've had two tractors, both with frame mount hoes and they work real well. Another option would be kit built, had one and was super strong and performed very well, I built my own frame mount for that one.

Al built mine, I used his hoe and then built my own frame mount. His hoe was bullet proof and the bushings were all easily replaced, therefore maintenance was a breeze. Here's his link. Again, I count no break his hoe.

Good luck,
Joel

iF YOU BOUGHT A TRAILER PARK AND HAVE ALL THAT WORK PLANNED (oops sorry about caps) I would seriously consider buying a used industrial TLB tractor. Check local contractors ,dealers, swapsheets, rental places, craigs list etc. Should be able to find a decent older machine for not much more than you'd spend for a new frame hoe for the LK.

The important thing for you is now you have 2 tractors and don't have to switch equip every time you need to do another job.
I know one guy ,bought a 20-25 yr old John Deere 510, for $8000, only money hes put in it is for new hoses because of age and sun/UV exposure. Another guy bought a very nice Ford 555 ,at auction for $7000. Also this gives you a machine with 2-3 times the capacity of an LK.

The other option you micht consider would be a used small excavator, about the same price range, not as versatile as a TLB, but if you have a lot of trench work twice as fast as a TLB.

Let us know how you make out.

bbse, good luck on the trailer park. I hope the previous owner kept good records. The park near me dug up the underground utilities looking for their septics because things were marked wrong or weren't marked at all. Calling digsafe would be a good idea. A few parks here have been bought by the tennants and they formed an association ,got grant or loans from the state, these parks have gotten run down and owners decide to let them go. I had a small backhoe but upgraded and got a widder bucket,if your park is all sand,a good wide bucket with straight edge does a nice job of making flat trenches ,less chance of snagging anything. we use a cleanup bucket to expose dist. boxes, change over if we hit hardpan or rocks. plowking

We have a KIOTI subframe mounted hoe that will fit the LK3054. It would be the KIOTI KB2475 with the LK3054 subframe. You need to have the KIOTI KL1230 loader for the subframe to work perfectly, or some minor modifications are required if you have an aftermarket loader. The backhoe can run off a KIOTI rear remote kit, or a hose kit from the tractor hydraulic block.

We recommend against any 3-point mounted backhoes.

I thought that the 3054 only accepted the 2376 hoe, which was made
for it only.

If someone buys the 3054, without the backhoe attachment, does it come
with the hoe subframe anyway? Like other purpose-built TLBs?

dfkrug, nope, the frame is part of the tlb kit as far as I know.

The LK3054 would come with just tractor.

My LK3054XS TLB came as a set, the set is made up of. Tractor, seperate serial number, loader, seperate serial number and backhoe, seperate serial number.

The backhoe included the frame mount, not the tractor.

Hope this clarifies.

PS, the frame mount for the 2376 is really nice, it's the four point set up similar to a BX 24 or the like (much larger obviously), but single lever and the backhoe falls off. Also, the backhoe sits high and tight against the back of the tractor making trailer loading easier. I really like the set up.

It is a Jinma 3 POINT hoe. Model # LW6. A 2004 model I believe. It is set up for remotes (not pto driven). I took it in on trade. It was mounted on a DK 40. Please pm me or give me a call for price. Thanks
