Hello All,

Been a long time since logging on. Crazy spring summer with being away in NC for training for new job. But home for the winter so time to research a snow blade for my 5035. Coming up to the 50 hour maintenance and have inquired about a snow blade to my dealer, so would like to go into the conversation/negotiation informed before having him do the maintenance and snow blade install in one pickup/delivery charge.

I will be 55 next Sunday and from what I have read so far, the older one gets, the harder it is on the neck and back to keep turned in the seat when using a rear blade. My driveway is only about 300 feet long but has a fairly good incline and gradual curve also, is narrower near the top and opens up the farther down the hill I go, so thinking some sort of FEL blade with power angle capability. If this winter is anywhere close to last years, I will need to use the bucket to move snow before it freezes if I run out of room to push it, which is a distinct possibility. I may be overly concerned as the 5035 is very powerful, has 4wd with the rear wheels having lockup capability with the foot pedal. I may never have to swap to the bucket, but just in case.... :confused3: Is it possible to get a blade with angle capability that can be swapped with the bucket as a quick release function? I know this is going to be a bit pricey, but I have learned the hard way to do it right the first time or I'll be sorry.:mur:

I believe the plow blade my dealer sells/recommends is not a Mahindra product. I vaguely remember the cost was around $2k but somewhat more (of course) with angle capability ($350+?). I have been advised to fill the rear tires for the added weight. Leaning towards beet juice, which is popular around here in case of a leak. More eco friendly, plus less expensive than rim guard.
That's all I know and it aint much.
Any input would be greatly appreciated.
I attached a pic of me and my beast from back in April when I put her to work.
Thanks.

Gus

The price you were quoted for the front blade sounds reasonable to me. I would certainley load the rear tires, as the plow is heavy and also puts the load out front further.
I would also load the front tires as steering with the blade angled is difficult. It should be a nice setup, good luck with it.
