NEED A TANK FOR YOUR TRACTOR FUEL?

How about this pump and tank left over from the oil and gas drilling boom in this county back in the mid to late 1800s?
It ought to hold enough fuel to last ya a day or two!

I really did not care to quote but to make a quick reply, just could not figure that out. Anyway I really liked the picture and I am actually trying to find a farm tank but only about 150 gallons. So far the quotes have been running between $900.00 and 1200.00, to **** much money for my one a farm tank for my one tractor.

I have a question about diesel fuel tanks. Can plastic tanks be used for long term diesel storage? I found this tank locally and for a 250 gallon pallet tank with a lower drain unit that I can attach the hose and filters - for $100 I don't think I can go wrong if it would be OK to use for diesel??? The tank is on an aluminum frame/pallet and would be easy to move/fill with the pallet forks.

I've heard these aren't suitable for diesel storage .
I'd go with 30 and or 55 gallon plastic drums.

Who are you talking to for tanks? I bought my last tank for $200 with the pump from a friend who didn't need two tanks anymore. It was 275 gallons. My first 275 gallon tank I bought new from one of the fuel suppliers and it was only a couple hundred dollars but I had to build the skid and set up the pump and fill ports still. So maybe $350 total for the setup with the piston pump I used.

How about the plain ol' 55 gal drum? I've got a couple of like-new drums that contained frying oil in a previous life. Paid $5 each and they seem to work fine. Picked up a Gasboy hand pump in a garage sale for $10. Cheap fueling.

I have been using one for 5 years with no problems. I built a stand at first then ended up putting it up on my rafters that are beefed up in my pole barn. I put a 2' section of hose then a filter followed by a 12' piece of hose and a gas station type nozzle. I just call the co-op and they come fill it with off road diesel.
