Need a Tractor

I recently bought 10 acres which is cleared, although is is in need of some trash clearing and other heavy work. I plan to put 4 acres into hay and keep the rest cleared. I also need occasional work scraping my driveway, etc. I need a tractor but have never owned one. After fairly detailed research I believe I will be buying a new Mahindra 3510 or 4110. Has anyone had any dealings with SE Texas Mahindra dealers as far as service issues etc. go? I am specifically looking at Top Flight in Cut and Shoot and Bar J Equipment in Cleveland. Also, any comments or suggestions for someone who has not used tractors before will be appreciated. Thanks.

are you going to be making the hay? If yes, will you be pulling hay wagons, rakes, round balers, square balers, etc..?

You will need a decent weight tractor to pull a wagon full of hay or to lift round bales. I would forget about the 3510 and start with the 4110 as a minimum if you will be using this tractor for all the hay work, possibly considering expanding to the 00 series tractors....

you can do square bales with a 4500, im sure your not going to roll 4 acres but just in case round bales would require a 6000. southeast texas....... i love it, i used to live in orange county. check with carraway hay and tractor in sulphur springs for price comparasons.

I bought from Top Flight last year. I was comfortable with them before I bought and have been happy so far. I have only bought maintenance items so far, no work warrenty or other.

My buddy is in the tree business. He buys all his equipment from them. Good enough for someone who makes their living with the equipment good enough for me.

You can also try Knox Tractor. They are nice people and may be right for you. I have heard good thing about them.

I also bought from Top Flight in Cut 'N Shoot. I had no problems with them but have only ordered a part or two from them; no warranty or service work as they are about 2 1/2 hours from me. They handled my deal politely and professionally.
