IH 606, with Loader
Hello,
I am new to this sight, but I thought I would give it a whirl. I use my IH 606, wide front, to move snow off my lane. Mostly, I use the 3-point blade mounted behind me, and I just drive backwards and push as much as I can. Then drive to the top and push it to the other side. I would like a cab for my 606, which would allow me to do this without getting frostbite on my ball-bearings. (you know what I mean). I live in Eastern Iowa, and I know there are very clever machine shops which could make something. Is there a factory which already makes this cab? Any help would be much appreciated!

Curtis makes aftermarket cabs. They have them for Kubotas, but not for IH I think. You might want to check anyway.

If you have the time, tools and ability to build one, it will save you a lot of money (and cost a lot of time). Mine took around 150 hours and $1,200. I made it in sections so it could be removed in warm weather, but for the last two years it's been fine just lifting the doors off for the summer. Some guys are happy with a canopy or frame with a plastic golf cart enclosure. Depends on what you want, need or are willing to put into it.

You might be able to find a old plow truck for cheap $500-$2000they are Around here. You can find some with little rust for $2000

Check out the tractor salvage places but be prepared to add a heater system ,in the sixties farmers were tougher and heaters were not routine features. Possibly the white ice cream box cab from a 706 could be made to fit fairly easy.

I tossed a $100 golf cart cab over my canopy and it made a world of difference. I later added a heater and it is too hot some days.
