John Deere 950 2wd John Deere 870 MFWD, John Deere F525 mower, John Deere F725 mower, John Deere F510 mower, John Deere Lx172 mower
I'm looking at an 82 JD 950 2wd with 75 Loader and 8a backhoe seller wants $10,000 is this a good price for this machine? I'm really wanting a machine with a loader/backhoe and this machine is close to me so getting it ain't a problem. But I'm a bit leary forking out this kinda dough for a 30 year old machine..

Now I have a 950 project tractor already but to find the loader and backhoe for this machine is Impossible and if I found these I would need all stuff to get it on my tractor aswell which could get expensive real quick

The prices on tractor house vary and some times the sellers are dreaming for what they think there tractor is worth..

Is 10 grand on a 30 year old 2wd machine too much?? He's telling me it was rebuilt in '95 and he has all the reciepts but does that really matter? that was 17 years ago? it has 2000 hours but that was changed out obviously so the hours are sketchy..

Am I better off forking out more cash for a say a 970 or much newer 990 minus backhoe and just try to find a backhoe seperate?

I haven't done the research in this size machine so I can't tell you what it is worth. I can tell you that just being older in no cause for alarm, and I have an 820 Deere without fel and backhoe that will bring a good price too. So while age is a factor condition is much more important. Just make sure this machine will cover your needs before you decide.

I would think that increasing your budget would open up alot more possibilities for used tlb's that would be a better choice, I like the small Kubota tlbs' and the Deere 110 tlb very well as all of these would be more user friendly. My current 110 will handle 95% of my fel and backhoe work while still being a great 43 hp tractor with topntilt and IMatch, very pleased with it overall.

No only that but maybe something with 4 wheel drive. Don't know where I'd be with out 4x4.

Just updating from the 50 series to the 70 or 90 series gets you into a much more modern tractor. The 50 series were a little crude by comparison. The price is a little high, but I wouldn't consider anything without 4x4.

just my opinion.. price soemthing like a new koyker loader and a woods backhoe and subframe.. then see what that leaves as tractor value, then think of the laoder and hoe being 30ys old, value wise and see where the money is.

I think you can find a small TLB for way less than 10g's
