2007 New Holland TT75A
Looking to upgrade tractors. Coming from a Ford 3000(good old tractor). Don't need anything fancy, might send my senses into overload after years on the 3000. I like the looks, simplicity, and price of the TT75A. I have compared the TT and TN models sideXside and the TT looks a little lighter in the drawbar/hitch area and the lift arms which concerns me. I want to know if this tractor is going to hold up to pulling a BR7060 round baler over rolling terrain. If anyone has any experience with the TT models and especially the TT75A please let me know your opinions. Thanks.

Whether or not the TT is a substantial enough chassis to do the job is secondary to my view that 62 PTO HP is inadequate to operate that baler on rolling ground. Yes, I know the specs for that baler say 60 PTO HP minimum.

Rick, do you have any idea what their base is for minimum? I can think of two things it means. Either it is bare minimum for hilly ground or it is bare minimum for flat, smooth ground. I almost think it is for hilly ground but like you I agree more tractor is better.

TNmule, did you look at the TD75D? It has a lot more mass then the TT75A and for pulling a round baler I think it would be a better choice. It is a similar model to the TT as far as being more of a bare bones, basic economy model for the guys who don't need or want all the fancy options and gadgets. Happy tractor hunting:)

I have no idea where some of this stuff comes from. I just have to try and help make it relate to the real world.
I get to run quite a few tractor/baler combinations in the course of field repairing round balers and helping friends make hay. I would not willingly pair a 4x5 round baler with anything less than 75 PTO HP; 85 if making high moisture baleage. And that is not overkill IMHO. What constitutes "rolling" ground can make a difference as well. It helps to be able to stop the rig when necessary, too.
