Help... I'm going crazy trying to decide between the CK30 or the DK35. I have 10 acres of semi cleared land. I will be using it to help clean up the back of my property that was clear cut about 10 years ago. Mostly very small trees 3 inches in diameter or smaller, alot of briars and whats just laying around on the ground, dead sticks and branches. I will be working around the house and usinf a blade to grade my 3/4 mile driveway. I already have a 5ft. grader box a 6 ft blade and a 5ft bush hog I have left over from my former 8N tractor. I have spec. out each tractor with manual transmission, FEL and R4 tires with fluid. the price difference between each tractor is about $2000.00. I plan to have this tractor a long time, so does anyone have an opinion. How bout it KioitiJohn? I told the dealer to get the 30 ready and I am going to pick it up next week, but I am having second thoughts, should I change to the 35?

HELP......I'm going crazy here......

The 30 will be just fine for your needs. I don't really see any need for the 35 unless you want to buy larger implements, but you already have some sized well for the CK30. It's a strong puller, and lots of helpful features like those telescoping hitch arms and stabilizers and all the other nice stuff, plus the sloping hood for better visibility. I don't see a need to pay $2K for 5 HP.
Does this help? Go get it.

here are some words about this very subject from someone in the know

The DK35 puts you in a whole new category. Larger tractor, faster hydraulics, more weight and lift capacity. It also takes a 8-1/2 ft backhoe versus a 7-1/2ft backhoe. The KB2385 is much stronger with larger pinning and reinforcements

I don't know if a BH is in your plans but the description of the tractor itself seems somewhat larger than the CK30. You were quoted $2,000 more but if you are like myself, I'm doing this once as far as I can tell. Not to step on any toes but to provide some more info. Hope this helps.

I've been a DK35 owner for a whole week now, I am used to the heavy yellow iron. I just turned 9 hours. Here's my synopsis of the Kioti lineup: LK=Ford Focus, CK= Ford Ranger, DK= Ford F250.
I've been extremely impressed with what mine can accomplish. The comfort level of the DK is superb.
I do have a serious negative though of the whole Kioti line. I bought all the attachments, gizmos and gadgets available including a backhoe. I cannot (CANNOT) get a bucket for my hoe, this has caused serious frustration between myself and Kioti.
With that aside, if you are going to keep your tractor for a long time, can spare a few dollars, and want the nicest in the Kioti line, go for the DK. I am glad I did and you will be too.

Kioitijohn thanks for your input, you told me what I needed to know. I've had a 8N tractor for several years and really liked the pulling power that old bird had. I just wanted to be sure that the CK30 had as much if not more pulling power than it did. I'm updating to a new tractor because I need a FEL to make work easier. I've looked at all kinds of tractors in the last 6 months and do feel that Kioiti has more to offer. The compact tractors just look like oversized lawn mowers compared to the traditional tractors of old. I just wanted to be sure I was making the right drcision. I'm very excited to pick up my new tractor next week. I'll be sure to post pictures. I want to thank you and everyone else in the forum for there comments, it's made my decision easier. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

There's always that temptation to go up for just a little more money (BTW, since when's $2K a little more money?) If you go up, you should be going up for a purpose, not just to get more features and more power you don't need. And when you move up to the DK, there's the next step up for only a little more money. At some point you find the tractor you need and that's what you should end up with.

Now, that being said - you initially picked the CK30 which is a very nice and capable tractor. What about it do you think it won't do for you that the DK35 will? That, IMHO, will answer whether you should move up or not.

You're welcome, and congratulations on your decision. I think it makes great sense to go with what will work for you, and with the implements you already have.
The others made good points about the DK35 extras for the money, but you simply don't need them. The $2,000 savings will help you to make another implement purchase.
