I am looking for a new way to water my garden, flower beds and trees this summer. Last year I would simply drive down to the pond and get a scoop of water with the FEL and dump it where ever. I want to adapt a pump to the PTO on my tractor and use a hose to do the watering this year. I have been looking at Hypro 6500XL pumps at the local ag supply and see you can get PTO adapters for them. Can I use this pump to accomplish my goal?
Can I run a hose off the intake side of the pump with the other end in the pond and not have to worry about priming it every time (anyone know if these are self priming)? Also, if all I can find is a CCW rotation pump, can you configure the internals to a CW rotation? Will these pumps supply enough pressure to run several (or even just one) sprinklers using a 5/8 garden hose? The specs say at 1000 RPM it is rated at 50 psi/ 16.5 GPM or 100 PSI/15 GPM and so forth up to 300 PSI/12.7GPM . So, I would say running several sprinklers should be no problem, probably even excessive but from anyones experience with these type pumps is it realistic?
Thanks,
