Need Engine for New Holland TC45D

I am having a heck of a time finding an engine for a New Holland TC45D. It has a Shibaura N844L engine, which I believe is also in some Case Tractors. The block cracked and can not be fixed. The dealer wants $9,200 for a new engine. I found a new N844LT (turbo) on ebay for $6500...but it was sold before I was able to find out if it would work. Does anyone know where I can get a motor for a decent price? I can just about buy a used tractor for the price of a new engine.

I tried both of them. Weaver's does have a motor to fit. I asked what was included in the "rebuild"? What parts were new? He said they either used new parts, good old parts, or a mixture of new and used parts. He said all the engines are started and ran but they only give them a 6 month warranty. If they actually rebuilt them with NEW ring and so forth it would be a good option. But they don't even put new rings in all of them..only if they feel they need it. If I'm going to pay$6000 for a old engine I'll pay $9000 and just buy a used tractor whole. I just keep thinking someone is selling these engines at a reasonable price.

Exactly where is the block cracked ? Its been my experience that most dealerships and big shops will always say the block cant be fixed no matter what. Problem for them is they have to stand behind the repair and even the best welder fabricator can have a repair fail. On the other hand I have seen blocks fixed in so many ways from actual welding right on down to JB weld that have stood the test of time and abuse.
Myself personally in a pinch used JB weld to fix a cracked block and reform a missing corner of a head after a collision with a big rock, so I could make an off-road race the next day. That was almost 20 years ago and after the race I retired the engine. A local kid wanted it for his off road buggy so I sold it to him at a very reasonable price letting him know I could not offer any realistic life span on the JB weld repair. The engine has been abused by him and now his teenage son ever since and is still running strong. So take note that even when told it cant be repaired sometimes it can. You want to find the local fabricator with the back yard shop that seems to be able to fix anything or build anything and have them look at it.

Mine has cracked (I believe, all the way to the piston). I have water and oil squirting out pretty good. If it were just water I might could have welded it. But I think there is too much compression to try welding it with oil squirting out. It's pure oil..not mixed with water.

are you interested in selling it? I have a TC35D that had a fire and need parts. My motor is different than yours.

I actually got the motor replaced last week. $6500 for a new motor and $1500 to have it installed. I did see some motors on ebay for the TC35 when I was looking. Good luck
