Need expert advice /GOOD video surveillance sytem

Any experts here on GOOD video surveillance systems ?
I would please like suggestions on a good video surveillance system that could transmit video 1500 feet to my house.I would like to be able to add more than one camera and be able to record images for play back etc.....I figure I could maybe catch an occasional vandal....

1500' is gonna cost you. How much are you willing to spend? Can you hard wire it instead? It would be much cheaper that way. Also, what's the terrain like?

Have you checked out X-10's website.

I borrowed a freinds system for a few days. Pretty cheap $$$ wise for what you get. Right to the PeeCee or your VCR.

There are lots of systems out there, quality pics and distance are what is gonna cost you.

Hi Steel,

We have a three camera system (one camera works under NO light using starlight for light source !). The system records only when the computer detects motion, and records to the hard disk drive on the computer. Entire system, including cameras was about 700$. This included over 300' of cable for two cameras, and a 700' wireless transmitter for our driveway gate camera. For a 1500' run, the transmitter receiver will cost several hundred dollars. You can purchase a transciever for much less which relies on existing electric wiring.

Our system also allows us to access video feeds from any location using the internet (secure too !). The wife sometimes checks on things when she is at work and I am away.

I would be willing to spend about $2500,I could use wire too,I am just throwing it on the table to get your guys input..........
