My chinese tractor is shut off by pulling a cable that shuts the engine down. This generally takes about 5 seconds for the motor to wind down and if you let the spring loaded cable go too early, the engine restarts again.
I see this as a safety issue as I would like to be able to shut it down positively in an emergency situation such as being attacked by bees, during an instability incident or when doing maintenance where you need to rotate the crankshaft without the engine starting.
I know that modern tractors at least have a key to turn the engine off. What I would like is to have a "kill" button or switch mounted close to the steering wheel that I could hit without much problem and have the engine go dead.
Has anyone out there installed something to do this? I guess a fuel shut off solenoid would do it. A less costly method might be to install a cable operator that could be "tripped" and would positively pull the fuel shut off cable back into a locked position.
