Need for anything more for snow blade?

I have a 1996 Yardman 19.5 / 46 which I just bought. I've bought the sleeve hitch for the box blade that I'm going to get but want to know if a snow / dozer blade needs anything else to attach it? I've had compact tractors before and don't know much about the lawn tractors.

Harris, I had a Craftsman 18 hp. My son had much more use for it than I so I set him up with a blade for his urban sidewalk and short concrete drive. I put some chains on the back for traction, as it wouldn't have done much of anything without them. If I remember, the front blade was around $280 on sale. It is a manual control, but that works well enough.

Chains were $45+ from TSC, I believe.

From dry snow, it works pretty well. But for the snow that is mostly rain, it doesn't work at all. But then, it is tough to blow that really sloppy stuff too, so it's no loss.

Does the snow blade also work as a small dozer blade or is that something different.

The original question actually was does the blade hook up directly to the front of the frame or does it need something between the blade and the frame that you have to buy separately?

It is a rather light weight, snow FRONT blade. Don't believe a dozer blade, even if located, would be effective, given the very limited weight/traction of a lawn tractor.

The blade comes complete for these lawn tractors. Includes all mounting hardware. If you get a chance, drop by a Sears store and check one out, or look at them on line at Sears.com. Most of the "tools" available for a lawn tractor are really nothing like the tools for a heavy garden tractor of years ago. But then, the modern lawn tractor isn't anything like the Garden tractor of the past.

The $10K Sub Compact tractor of today is a better representative of a small tractor like the Wheel Horses, Case, etc of the 60's and 70's.

It's a front blade .
It will push dirt gravel snow sand or any other loose materal .
