This is a two part post.
So I'll start with part 1
.
Our house should be complete in the next 2 weeks. At this time I have two tube gates at the entrance of our drive a 12' and 10' that I chain in the middle. It was a temporary gate as it started out as a 12' and I had to widen it inorder to get the roof trusses in. So I only have one post on each side.
My wife wants to have a gate when we get moved in. We are 400'-600' off the road and the house cannot be seen from the road. So I need examples of entrance gates. I have done a search and found a few. But it would be nice to look at some in the same thread.
So if you have an entrance gate could you post a picture here. I will try to keep the gate simple and will most likely use the tube gates in the beginning since I have several other projects I need to complete first.
Our drive will be graded next week so I will try and get a picture this weekend to show where the gate will be located.
Part 2:
We have discussed the entrance gate and to me it has pros and cons. The pro being we can lock it when we leave for the day or overnight. If someone wants in they can get in but the gate may offer some resistance or at least slow them down. They would have to cut my chain before they drove up and loaded my stuff
.
The Con being if the gate is locked people will know we are not home!! What is your opinion on this especially if you have an entrance gate?
Thanks
David
