Hi all. I need some advice on what specs to look for in a gooseneck trailer.

I have an F350 7.3L Diesel Crew Cab Short Bed 4x4 with GN hitch

and want to pull a:

John Deere 67HP 5325 MWD tractor (GW 6500#) with a front end loader and a JD 709 7" cutter (about 1000#).

I think a 25' flatbed will work (open to suggestion on length) but I'm not sure about the flip up ramps on the dovetail since the cutter could get in the way...and not sure if I pull all the way forward if the weight is too forward of the axles. So maybe a dovetail with pull out ramps would be better. Also, I'm guessing something with dual 7000# axles would be sufficient. I also want to pull a Ranger and ATVs so but assume I need to stick with flatbed for the tractor but I do need a third ramp or some way to drive up ATVs.

Thanks in advance for any advice!!

A 5325, including the draft links, is just under 12' in length. Estimate loader and bucket to stick out 5-6', the mower is proably near 9' including the tail wheel. That puts the overall length near 26-27'. The tail wheel can hang off the back between the flip up ramps. Most GNs have the trailer wheels set relatively far back. You will probably have too much weight on the truck (singles on rear axle), unless you load it backwards and then the load may not fit. The front of the tractor with FEL will weigh more than the back and that weight is now far forward on the trailer. Usually the cost is not much more to get a little longer trailer. 14K should be plenty to carry the weight.

Many trailer flip up ramps will get narrow enough to load a atv or utv. Just need to measure. Pull out ramps get a little old putting on an off but will give you more flexibility.

I have a 70 horse Kubota with a loader, and various implements. I have a 25' gooseneck flat top (Big Tex, two 7000 lb axles) and pull it with a 96 F 250 Powerstroke. It works great. Sometimes I load it forwards, sometime backwards, depending on what I am carrying. As far as loading a 4-wheeler, I am not sure if my ramps will go that close, as I have never tried it. You could always use a set of folding ramps, or easily have something welded up. My ramps have wide spacing between "rungs" so the smaller tires on an ATV may not work as well on that, but again, I have never tried that. I would think a 25' gooseneck will do all that you want it to do. Expect to spend about $5000 minimum.

I also have a 70hp Kubota, but a 20 ft flatbed. Tractor and mower will fit, with the wheel of the mower between the ramps. Get a minimum of 25ft. It's what I would have, if I had the money.

I load a UTV routinely on this same flatbed all the time.
