Hey guys, just bought a 450c crawler. I have to replace the steering clutches on both sides of the tractors and i'm having a problem getting them out. Does anyone know how to get the output shaft that runs through the steering clutches out of the tractor. Do i have to take the final drive off like on the 450 or is the 450c different, is there someting i'm missing. Please help guys any info or pictures would be great

Have you a tech manual available?

Have you been on jdparts for a part breakdown, which can be helpful "seeing" what the individual parts look like.

Hello folks, I'm new here. My name is Carl B. and I'm from the U.P. of Mich. That's right, a Yooper born and true! Anyhow, I have a 450C crawler loader that lost power to the left side. Thinking the worst, I got some info from the manual and tore her down! Track and sprockets off, seat and tank group removed. Took the top housing cover off and lo and behold this little darn pressure line going to the pressure manifold was blown wide open! What doesn't seem right is that this little hose doesn't seem to be made for much pressure, it seems to be just a hard plastic line with a rubber outside and 1/4 inch male pipe thread ends! Does not appear to have any steel braiding whatsoever. Is this right? could it possibly make a difference if I replace it with a stronger steel braided hose? A pleasant surprise to be sure, I just wonder if it has to be that light to be flexible, does it need to move around in there a lot? Or is it just that low of pressure? Any info will be greatly appreciated, Thanks, CarlB frum da UP eh?

Welcome to TBN
Sounds like you could go to a hyd. hose made up to the right length with the right ends.

Check out the size noted in jdparts.com for that part.
