Need help ASAP- Do Gators have a title?

I am going to buy a 07 Diesel Gator from a gentleman and I need to know if they are titled. He says no?

Its one of those things... My quads are titled, but my tractors are not.....

not to my knowledge. it is my understanding that Gators are considered farm equipment, such as tractors, implements, etc. ATV's are considered a recreational vehicle whereas Gators are not. that's how South Carolina views it anyways.

It might depend on what state you are in, so you probably should contact your state's DMV to ask. I know they were not titled in Texas a few years ago, so I'd guess they still are not.

Varies by state. Not titled in Az unless you choose to register it for on road use.

I don't think so. Your quads more than likely came with an MSO. Mfg's certificate of origin. Maybe your state turned that into a title.

Nope in most states unless you plan to put it on the regular street and that requires some significant upgrades. Plus where are you gonna mount the catalytic converter?

When I bought my 2005 JD Gator new from dealer - no title.

Polaris and Honda have them, but JD didn't

So, go figure.

John Deere Gators do not have titles, just a Manufacture Certificate of Origin (or MSO's) which you would only need if you are going to put a license plate on it.
