Blurrybill / Hillbilly / Others;

Looking to purchase JD4410 w/ 4-in-1 in the near future.

Need comments on 430 FEL w/ 4-in-1 on the JD4310 - JD4410. How is it working out - Enough power.

What type task have you accomplished.

Would you buy the JD combo again? After reading of Blurrybill's experience I'm concerned about a JD purchase. Without dealing with the dealer issue - how are the JD machines?

AuCivil,

I have been very pleased with the 430 loader with 4in1 bucket. So far, I have stacked about 60 piles of limbs and other trimmings from overgrown bushes and trees into piles. Then, I've come along and picked them up easily with the 4in1. My neighbor lent me an old grain wagon -- I've taken about 25 wagonloads of brush to a ravine where I EASILY pushed the piles in to naturally decompose. I have no experience, but I got the hand of it fairly quickly. Takes a bit of practice; I've tried "clamshelling" from above or opening the jaws and approaching on the level (that works best for me). I would buy the 4in1 again. I haven't had occasion yet to lift significant weight with that bucket, but I believe it will handle reasonbly sized logs, too.

Sadly, my tractor isn't working as designed, yet. I plan on finding a dealer for the 50 hour service that can check hydraulics, bleeddown of the top and tilt and other problems that (I hope) are related to dealer install. In that regard, the best lesson I learned is to associate with a competent dealer -- MAKE SURE that you check out other customers and the service department.

In summary, I am not at the stage to pass final judgment on my tractor. The challenge for me is to find a dealer who can help sort through possible install problems. There are some great things about the tractor -- that's why it was my original choice.

Let me know if I can answer any other questions.

I wouldn't be concerned about the quality at all of the JD machines. Bill's experience was not with the quality of the machine and attachments but rather with the inept dealer that put it all together. I've got the 4600 now with over 1500 hours and ALOT of abuse and hard work and that thing hasn't missed a lick or been in the shop one time.

Bill:
If you want to check out the lifting power of the bucket just try picking up the tool box you had spec'd out on the forum!!

AuCivil,
See my recent post on 48 hours and counting on a 4310. I love the loader and 4in1!
