Either one of those will work, with the larger one having the most torque, and the lowest rpm, which is OK in an auger situation. If you need to use the large hyd motor in a till situation, just gear up the prm for the correct rotor speed.

I would get one of those with the bolts and make up an adapter that will bolt on and provide about a 1 1/2 in shaft to mate up with the auger shaft or whatever the auger shaft requires. If it needs 2 in, make it up for 2 in. The use a shear bolt.

There is lever type valve that will provide variable speed, and one direction, and if you need reverse, get the motor spool valve with detent.

One of those motors has a case drain, and you need to provide for that.

Let me add also, that there is a unit with a hyd PTO motor that can connect to your adapter plate, and will give you the ability to use any 3pt attachment, with or with out hyd service.

Thanks JJ

I am going to go for the middle one. Higher torque, and would be the same price as if I bought the lower torque version and the drum.

I would love the highest torque, but that is out of my financial ability (read wifes agreement to money spent)

thanks again. Will keep everyone informed as I move forward.

Carl,

That motor should work very well for you. It's the same displacement as mine. With 18gpm on your PT vs. the 8gpm on mine, it should spin fast enough to sling dirt away from the hole. I've never gotten around to adjusting the pressure relief on mine because at 2000psi it does just fine unless I hit a large rock or root. You should have plenty of torque.

You're getting a nice motor at a much better price than I paid for mine.

Someone on the PT forum changed out their hyd wheel motors, and they might make some good auger motors for less money.

Do you remember this post by GRAVY.

A 12 in auger from PT is about $300.
24 in----------------------------$800

I got my 6", 9" and 12" augers from TSC. They were around $100 each about 5 years ago. They are considerably lighter duty than the ones PT sells, but they've held up just fine for me.

JJ (or whoever), I have 4 extra wheel motors for my 1845. A member sold me all 4 from his 1845 when he upgraded to larger capacity motors for his steep terrain. Do you think these will work okay for attachment motors? Or are they too fast.
