It ran fine shut it off and next day started right up for 10 secs then quit and wont start. Cranks fine and I replaced fuel filter. Fuel looks fine going to filter and out of the filter. It tries to fire once in a while for a second or two but that's it. Could it be injector pump? It's a 95 but only as 2K hours. Not sure what else to check. I've had it a couple years(came with farm) but I dont farm so I dont know much about it. Thanks

I would look closely at the fuel shut off solenoid.

Is that the solenoid on the injector pump?

Yes. It should be controlled by a relay. Relays and safety switches can be the failure as well. I would start by removing the solenoid and having a look. Sometimes a good cleaning and they will go back to work.

Check to be sure fuel control solenoid(key 10) is receiving 12 volts & should make a click when ign switch is turned to run position. My next guess is check valve(key 2) is clogged. Loosen the 2 screws on window(key 8) so fuel can escape then attempt to start engine with fuel leaking. If engine runs valve(key 2) is clogged.

I checked the solenoid and it was working. I would like to say how I used my vast knowledge(lack there of) of diesel tractor engines to solve the problem but I can't. I replaced the fuel filter since I had one on hand and I removed the cap to the float that is over it by mistake. That led to the o ring not sealing and I messed with that for an hour or more. I found a harbor freight o ring set that eventually worked but not sure how long that will last. I followed the fuel to the injector pump. I took off the end near the filter then mistakenly took the other end off before I checked the flow of fuel to the pump. Since I had an air hose I just blew out the hard line and couldn't really tell if it was clogged since I couldn't see the other end. I put it back together and after a priming for a minute it started up. Ran fine after that. Was it clogged, not sure. I wouldn't think so after the fuel filter but its working for now. Thank you for the help.
