Besides the dealers identified in this web site (I've written to some of them already)-----need suggestions of who to go to in order to get a solid low quote for a compact tractor our church will be buying. I'm point man for this, and hope to substantially beat the Walmart/Home Depot/Lowes prices. We can fetch, so shipping/trans cost won't be a factor.

What we're looking for is a wide cut wideth (approx 54") garden or lawn tractor.

The local Cub Cadet dealers sell their tractors for the same price as Lowes. The local JD dealers sell their LTs for the same as Home Depot. What you may find is an "END OF SEASON" close out, and those can be at a substantial savings. I know the local Sears Hardware Store has a manager who can negotiate at the end of the season. Also check the Sear's website, I got a good deal on a residential ZTR mower that I gave as a wedding gift on their website earlier this year. . . and they delivered it to the closest store for free, where I then picked it up. If you don't care about the brand, then you will likely get a lower price on non-JD and non-Cub equipment. But spend your money wisely, lighter made equipment will not last as long as heavier built, but similar size units.
