Need help finding nut

Does anyone have any information on where I might find a nut off 422 wheel motor other than power trac? It is a 3/4 castle nut 28 thread per inch. I have tried NAPA , hydraulic repair shops, fastenal, surplus center without any luck. Can get it from power trac but $50. minimum order. Thanks for any help.

Just throwing this out...Have you thought about re-threading the bolt for a new castle nut you could buy at a hardware store or HD ? Just a thought.

The last time that this came up, I poked around the internet and found a couple of sources. Try searching on the thread size plus castle nut, but you might want to double check the size; Scotchers had it measured by someone else at 1"x20. (The way the TBN thread was left it was unclear what the correct size is.) You might want to PM Scotchers to see what he did.

Rethreading a shaft subject to large forces is not something that I would take lightly. By rethreading, you can, and usually do, lose significant thread strength.

I checked with Keith at power trac and he confirmed it is 3/4 castle nut , 28 thread per inch. I have called at least 50 different places and no luck. I guess I will order it from power trac. Thanks for input.

Scag mower uses a 3/4-28 castle nut on their mower. You might have a dealer in your area. If not try Mowpart.com or other online sources. Mowparts price is $9.42. Scag part # is 48679. Hope this helps.

The original nut came off while I was plowing snow. I found the nut about 100 yards from where the wheel fell off, the threads were ground down on the nut but are ok on the shaft it seems. I knew the key way on the hub was getting worn and I had ordered a new hub when I had my tram pump rebuilt by power trac back in the middle of November, but I just never got around to replacing it. Luckily the wheel fell of right in front of my garage and I just raised the front of the power off the ground with the snow blade and put it in the garage for repairs.Attached picture of nut not real clear.

Tried scag dealers none stock it. Called mowparts and they do not stock it or list it they said.
