Need Help Finding Snap Fastners

Im in the process of refurbishing the frame on the curtis soft cab that is on my JD 4500 Compact. I purchaed new curtins and when I re painted the roof and lower front windsheld areas, I wanted to replace missing and damaged snaps studs that secure the curtins to the frame.

I found the snap fastner kits at the local hardware store but I have a couple of problems. First the screw type studs screws need to be a larger size to fit the existing holes. The ones that came in the kits I found were #8. I really need # 10's for them to fit correctly. Also, the screws are too long. The ones I was able to find were 3/8 . I really want something shorter so I dont have to cut them off and grind them down.

I have been looking on line but dont seem to find what I want. I also dont want to order anything and have it not work. Maybe someone else has done a similar project and could help me out finding these.

any help anyone could give me would be greatly appreciated. I expect my frame back from the fab shop soon and really need to put this back together before we get snow. I really dont want to plow without the cab!

I found them at Home Depot believe it or not. In the hardware section where all the nuts and bolts are they have 2 or 3 rotating bins marked specialty fasteners. May have to buy the ones designed to rivet on and use your own screws.

I'll bet you can find them at West Marine if you have one near.
Do a search for "snap fastener kit" and you'll find tons of them.

Not sure where you are located (thanks iPhone app) but they have some retail locations. But their online catalogue is very helpful, and should let you know what setter is required.

perhaps not quite your situation, but when I use a golf cart cover as a "cab", I have attached quite strong button magnets to it at strategic places, which cling tenaciously to the respective parts of the tractor...keeps things quite taut and, if I need to reach in, anywhere, it's easy to do ...more info available if req'd

I get most of my snap parts off EBAY. Look for Stainless Steel that will not rust.
