Cockshutt 30
Hello I own a 50s era Cockshutt 30 (CO-OP E3), IT was pretty much thrash when I bought it. Long story short , ive slapped a 220hp V6 (from a Taurus sho) into it and hooked a hydraulic pump to the crank pulley. It previously had a 4cyl 30hp buda engine with its own engine hydraulic pump plus the one im currently using. It has a Wagner aftermarket loader (2x huge 1 way cylinders) and bucket (one 2way cyl). A Gressen (Indianapolis) 990?(model unknown to me) valve (2 handles) And a 3pt system (Normally those models didn't have 3pts , its an old conversion theve made with a later cockshutt 540) .

Now im trying to run everything off that one hyd pump I salvaged. In the attachements Ive provided the hydraulic routing. Note That this tractor was hacked and messed with ALOT before I took over and Its not a farm tractor anymore , its just to plow my entryway and do occasional yardwork.

Ive also tried to rebuild the control valve (so its possible I could have messed it up by inverting both plongers/sliders). The reservoir (see diagram) I added Was to provide enough oil to feed the MASSIVE loader cylinders (2.5" shaft) because the 3pts reserve is tiny.

Issues to be fixed:

-the bucket will go only one way even if its plumbed 2 way. oil is pushed out of only one hose (disconnected both lines and tested). Although the loader works fine.
-Foaming in oil (air).

Is the left handle the 2 way? Cause I think this valve has one handle 1 way and one handle 2 way....

Thanks I hope ive provided enough details.

Sorry can't help much with the hydraulics but.
You could disconnect all the lines and operate your valve and observe the oil flow.
Is there any labeling on the valve body?
If you inverted the metering rods, do you mean switched them side to side?
Does one handle have a detented position? If si I would expect that to be afloat position which should go to the lift cylinders.

That little V6 should make that a fast little tractor, did you couple the engine up direct or use an auxillary transmission?

Sorry can't help with the issue but I will play the hydraulic police and inform you the the galvanized fittings (street els, nipples, bushings etc.) are 100% taboo...except on low pressure return lines...

Besides 066 or 990 on that valve , theres literally nothing , both metering shafts are swappable ( same length) and are almost identical except some extra passages. The handles can both be pulled or pushed and springs back to "neutral" when you don't touch em.

Nope the engine uses its own flywheel mated to the tractors stock buda pressure plate (modified to bolt to my Taurus flywheel) with a stock buda clutch disk.

Ya, they are rated to 300psi. Old hydraulics are often rated to 1,800ish psi. Modern tractors run at 2,500psi.

Given that tractors run at rather low RPM & that engine you put in revs pretty high, things could get ugly quick as that pump goes over RPM spec. A pinprick sized hole in a line can inject oil into flesh at a suprising distance. Gangeeen & losing limbs if that occurs are likely the good outcome...

It runs idle at 700rpm , its fuel injected no governor.
