I am installing a new clutch in my 175 and I know when I have done 35's in the past I had a tool that I made up per the manual to adjust them with.It looked like a big C. I can't seem to find the specs to make one for a 175 though. The manual I have just says use the massey ferguson specialty tool to adjust. It looks the same but does anyone have the specs to make one for a 175? It is a dual clutch(10 spline and 25 spline) without multipower. Thanks in advance.

I've made my own as well out of 1/8" x 1 1/4" flat stock. It looks like a big C .I don't think it has to be any real specs as what its really used for is to make the three pressure plate fingers 0.005 within the same height of each other so that the release brg stays as flat as possible pushing on the fingers.Guess thats why they only say 0.005 difference between the fingers. The sencondary clutch plate the clearance is supposed to be 0.080 between the bolt head and the plate.Hope this helps,if you really need the measurement for the tool I'll have to take a look for it tommoro and measure it up and post it if you want.Larry.

Yes I would love to have the specs on the tool. I have two already made for the 35's for the two different engines and they are a good bit different between the two so I figured the 175 had to be a different spec.

Here's the pic of the one I made. You have to realize it's just something I made up to set the fingers on mine. The measurements are just what I used to make mine. The adjustment is made on each finger using a feeler guage set at whatever works out best eg: .010 or .025 it doesn't really matter what it's set at as long as all three of the fingers are set at the same height. The fingers are where the realease bearing sits and pushes against to realease the clutch,so really what your only doing is making sure the fingers are the same height so that the bearing runs true and straight.Remeber this is something I made up out of thin air no actuall specs from anywhere except from my own shop for my own use. Hope this is what your looking for.Larry
