pulled in a little spot and bailed 22 know problem. pulled in a bigger field, bailed 2
and never could get it to tie on the right side.

the problem is i am not catching both twine in the disk when it goes to tie.

the needle is set right, and putting it in the holder,

when it goes to tie, the needle brings the string
to the holder good, but the other string that it is already holding does not go all the way in the disk. i dont know what to do about this.

and yes the twine disk are in time.
lookes just as good as the left.

also does the twine not go all the way in the notch in the twine disk when it is holding it
before it goes to tie? never have seen it, always
just to the side of it.

THANKS FOR THE HELP

Both strands of twine should be staying fully in the twine disk. If one is pulling out, check to see if the twine is caught in the twine box by something or the spool is not feeding out properly. If the twine is only partially in the twine disk, check for tucker finger timing or looseness. When the needles come up, the twine should lay right into the twine disk notch. You may even have to move the needle around to get the job done. This is a simple adjustment easily done. The needle should press tightly against the intermediate gear when it comes up. This keeps it from bobbing around and missing the notch. Also if the twine is pulling out of the disk, check to see if there is enoungh tension on it. Tighten if necessary. A dull cutoff knife can also pull the twine out of the disk. On another post/thread (whatever you call it), Niiji has been getting his 532 up to factory specs. This has revealed some wear and tear on a few of these parts. We're hoping his Ford parts are interchangeable with JD and newer NH parts because theres quite a few wrecks out there that can provide serviceable replacements at low cost. Sounds like yours is an adjustment problem. Let us know how you are doing. everytime someone gets one back into operating condition, we get a little better at the whole fixit before its broke condition.

starting off fresh, when the needles brings the first string up it catches the twine disk no problem.
then when it gets some hay in the chamber and it brings the second string up no problem, but when
it gets ready to tie the first string doesnt go in the disk notch with the second string
causing it to get cut.

Adjust the tucker finger on the right side to make it put the twine into the twine disk slot where the first one is being held. This should happen when the needles reach the end of their maximum upward travel.

Oldjunker...did you get your Ford tying nots? I've just been through one and after days of trouble worked it out finally, and was wondering if you had any luck with yours?
