Price Check Need help on price for this tractor

I am looking to buy my first tractor and want advice on this deal or dud? Here is the actual ad:

770 John Deer tractor w/ 5ft box blade, 5ft brush hog, post hole digger
and front end loader.
Runs great has100 hr. on the meter, in near new condition ready to go to work $8,500

Any help would be apprieciated.

From what I can find it is not a bad price. This tractor is at least 10 years old (made from 1989-1998) and with 100 hours on the clock. It is 25HP at the engine and 20HP at the PTO. I would only consider it if I could see it in person or if from a reputable dealer. There are alot of scammers out there. These are great machines but I think I would try to deal down a bit. One other thing you might consider is buying from a reputable used dealer. I bought from Barlow tractor in Ky and I have never been to their lot and I dealt with Brady Barlow the web and these people are very good to deal with and they deliver all over for a reasonable price. Thought I might mention that.
I am sue there are other good dealers out there that others could recommend but I have personal experience with Barlow's and would buy from them again.

If you are looking for a dependable gear tractor........than look no further. I owned a 770 for two years and sold it last spring for $ 12,600.00. It had 1400 hrs +- but also had a 70 FEL and a 7 BH. I also had new R4 tires all the way around. Great tractor really tough never had a problem except for a bad battery cable. Always started up even on the coldest winter days........parts are the same as a 790 so they are readily available. PTO is a little weak out the rear so be careful of the mower size.......other than that a great tractor.

I have a 770 and I agree with Whitey. Nice little tractors.

If it really only has 100 hrs on it, which I find almost unbelievable, then IMO that's not a price for that tractor with all those attachments. Definitely worth a trip to look at it. I thought that my tractor had ridiculously low hrs on it 495 when I bought it. I average over 100 hrs a year, with the majority of that just mowing my yard.

Well I purchased the tractor and it is in mint condition. An older man sold it to me, he mowed 5 acres every once in a while. It has 114 hours on it. Had manuals and service records. He bought it new and had proof. I picked it up yesterday and have already started putting it to use. I think I'll double the hours in no time. Thanks for all of your input. I really like the little tractor.
