Tractor
1993 Ford 3415
Greetings

I have a 1993 Ford 3415 tractor, and I am haveing a difficult time setting the correct trim for my two disc 16" plow. I seem to only be able to plow with the closet plow to the tractor and unable to engage/us the second rear plow. Further more I tend to dig quite deep with the plow that is being used to the point of it being buried at some times. I know enough that I am doing something wrong.... Where can I find information to properly trim my plow, or any pointers?

Thanks All For The Help.

WELCOME.
GOOD FIRST POST.
PICTURES ALWAYS AID DIAGNOSIS.

You level all Three Point Hitch mounted implements left-to-right by adjusting length of the right Lifting Rod.

Lifting Rods, right and left, are vertically oriented parts which lift the Lower Links, also known as Draft Links. Manual adjustment is only on the right Lifting Rod, the left Lifting Rod is NOT adjustable.

Usually, this is a screw adjustment. Sometimes a crank augments the screw adjustment. There is usually some type of simple gravity latch which secures the right Lifting Rod screw adjustment.

Lower plow to ground, so there is some slack in right Lifting Rod. It will be very difficult to adjust if under tension or compression.

If above is not the problem, there is a chance one of your Lifting Rod stirrups is pin-set higher or lower than its mate on the opposite side. "Normally" right and left Lifting Rod stirrups should be pinned symmetrically.
( Left stirrup pin in photos has a ring-cotter securing it.)

With one stirrup set asymmetrically to its mate, someone could still adjust right Lifting Rod (in Post #2) to nearly level an implement.

(Pictures show the left side of my Three Point Hitch. It could as likely be asymmetrically pinned on the right side.)

Note: HIGHER HOLE = HIGHER IMPLEMENT LIFT.

As this is a coarse adjustment of either Lifting Rod, right Lifting Rod will probably need to be fine adjusted once again. (Post #2)

Let me know if one of these two suggestions CURES~~~~~~~

Pictures would be helpful. Given what you describe, I would guess either a mis-adjusted/too short a top link (the top connection of the 3-point hitch) that does not allow the 2nd rear most plow bottom from engaging the ground. Would make the angle of attack for the plow too steep.

Park the tractor on a level (preferably concrete) pad. Drive the left front and rear tires up on 8" thick boards, blocks, etc. Whatever to get the whole left side of the tractor up 8". this will simulate running the right side of the tractor down in an 8" furrow.

Now with a combination of toplink and side link adjustment. level the plow so they are both on the concrete
