need help shopping used

Hi All:
New to the forum - and new to the world of garden tractors. Finally made the leap into "garen tractors" as opposed to "lawn tractors" this winter, but I could use some help with my next buy. I picked up a 1995 JD gt275 a month ago and a 2002 gt235 just before that. Both are highly regarded by MOST users from what I can see on the web. I wanted to get one more machine just a little heavier duty to maybe put a Johnny Bucket on, and came accross a JD 335. This is NOT a gx335 just plain old 335.

Can somebody tell me the difference between the 335 and the GX335 or my gt235? I don't want to end up spending $ to get another tractor that turns out to be more or less just what I already have - not a whole lot on the web about the 335 that I could find.

The 335 was the fore-runner to the GX335,
air cooled with hydraulic lift and power steering.

a 300 series tractor (335, GX335, 345 etc) is
a step up in machine over a GT200 series tractor,
with a bit more rugged steering system, and all were
kawasaki engines, (come GT235's were Briggs Vangard)
and availability of hydraulics, on the 335/345.
there may be a little heavier frame, but they all
took similar attachments, snowthrowers/tillers/blades
etc.

Thanks Dutch445 - I went ahead and bought the 335 today - seems to be in good shape for a 2001 - 396 hours, 48C deck - got the usual cracks in the r/l bumper panels but I'm not worried much about the cosmetics just now. So now I have 4 JD's: an LA115; a gt275, a GT235 and the 335 - year from now when I get them all tuned to perfection and polished up, maybe I'll sell them all and get a "real tractor" - like an x700. No, probably not - I just don't like the shiny new stuff JD is putting out these days. . Thanks again for your input - that pretty much squares with what the dealer told me.
