My dad has been having some problems with the brakes on his 1980 Coachmen RV. It's been sitting idle for 2 years due to ill health. Now he is feeling better, he asked me to see if I can fix the brakes for him. I discovered a corroded brake fluid line on the rear axle. So we replaced that. The rear fluid resevoir on the master cylinder was empty when I took off the lid. So I filled that and pumped the fluid through (with a syringe type brake bleeding kit) but couldnt get much pressure on the back line when pumping the brake pedal. I'm thinking the resevoir may have been dry for at least a year. So with that I recon the O rings have dried up and perished. The remaining brake lines are ok, no leaks, but they do have surface rust so the plan is to replace the lot for safety sake. I need to repair the Master cylinder first...

Problem is we're living in Ireland and GMC aint so common over here, so I could do with some recomendations on suppliers who deal in parts for older american vehicles...?

Its a standard 1980 GMC 2 door van "cab & chassis" ("Vandura35" badge on the front fenders). It has a coachmen leprechaun body.
Similarly known as a 1 ton GMC or a "full size van" I'm led to believe....

Can anyone help me out?

ALSO!!!!

As I'm on the subject of GMC vandura parts...

He has some bodywork issues that need to be addressed too!

I need two doors, the originals have had new skins fitted in the last 5 years but the internal structure of the doors is in a rusted state and could do with replacing...

The firewall/bulkhead also has some rust issues. If the original could be cut out and a replacement welded in, she'd be like new again...

I know, significant work but what can I say, he loves his RV..... And I'm willing to help him out..

Try this LMC Truck Parts: Chevy Chevrolet Blazer S10 GMC Jimmy S15 Ford Bronco Ranger Pickup Pick Up Accessories/Catalogs They are primarily for pickup based vehicles but do have some van parts. I have used them and Auto Parts Fast at RockAuto for parts for my GM vehicles.

I do recommend these two and enjoy having parts delivered direct to my door. Hope this helps
