need help to id my tractor model and year

I am a new owner of an old ford. I think its an N9. where do I find the identifying model and year so I can order parts. I wish to do a tune up at this time

Here you go... Antique Tractors - The Ford N-Club - Serial Numbers

Seriel number is stamped into engine block on the left side. 2N and 9N are a bit harder to visually tell apart, 8N have foot boards and rear wheels have a smaller diameter bolt pattern. Good luck with your project, I recently sold my 8N which I had owned and used for about 34 years.

Thanks. mbohuntr and mapper. I cleaned the engine sides and found the model mark. I found the serial number too but it near impossible to read or get an pencil paper etching. A picture on the cell phone works, because I can enlarge the image to read some of the characters.

I was able to get her started. A tune up is almost done. Indeed, the distributer cap I needed to complete the tune up had just shown up yesterday, so I will be able to complete the tune up.

Last Saturday I was able to find some great tractor sites on the net that have parts at a reasonable price.
