I bought a rear PUMA Pronovost snow blower with 2 cylinders 1 for rotation and the other one for deflector. I want to install rear hydraulic valve to operate these 2 cylinders.

I am newbie and would like to have some advice to buy the hydraulic valve and the accessories:

I am looking to buy this valve at surpluscenter
COMPACT CONTROL VALVES
Brand new EATON-CESSNA 30920. Directional control valve for operating hydraulic cylinders. Compact design makes it ideal for small tractor and other low flow applications. Open center. Spring centering spools. Includes handles.

SPECIFICATIONS2 SPOOL DOUBLE ACTING
5 GPM
2,500 PSI
Adjustable relief set at 2,000 PSI
IN/OUT ports SAE 8
Work ports SAE 6
Size 6 3/4" x 4 3/4" x 2"
Shpg 7 lbs

Is it the right valve? What should be the good one?
What is the good GPM for this application?
I also look for a joystick with cable. Would be a good choice?
I don't have much room to install the valve and would like to install on the rear right fender.

If you have any information i would appreciate any comments or picture

Thanks!

The valve is too small. The B21 hyd pump delivers 8.5-12.5 GPM, depending
on use of the power steering. This is at full RPM. I would shoot for
a 2-spool with 12-15 or more GPM. I have bought numerous Prince valves,
some from SurplusCntr. You can get joysticks for some of them.

As for installation, my B21 has a 3-spooler installed on the right FOPS
post. There is not enough room on the fenders, as you can see.

Thanks for the reply, what i understant now is that the valve should deliver at least the pump capacity in GPM. I take a look in the workshop manual and the book said 8.3 GPM and 8.5GPM at no pressure. So i will forget for the 5GPM.

I take a look to this Joystick valve:
SPECIFICATIONS10 GPM
3000 PSI
Adjustable relief 800-3000 PSI set at 2000
Open Center
Double acting
In/Out Ports SAE 8
Work Ports SAE 8
Size 5-1/2" x 2-3/8" x 17-7/8"
Shpg. 14 lbs.

Now i think that it is o.k. 10GPM for a pump of 8.3GPM.

Now my concern is more about the location. My first location choice is shown in the middle of the third picture. I would install a fixation on the ROLL OVER BAR rear right and the valve should be on the side with the joystick pointing the front of the tractor. I know that there will be minor interference between the seat when rotating for Backhoe but i think i can handle it. What do you think?

Also i will not be able to use the Backhoe outlet because there a switch valve that choose between the 3 point and the backhoe. Now i am wondering where and how can i connect the main driveline to the valve ?

Thanks!

if you have a post for your fel valve why not mount it there? easier to use than on your roll bar or fender

The idea to put the valve on the rear right was because when I snow blow with a rear snow blower i always look behind and I have my right hands near the rear fender. It was also to have the connection line near the snow blower (shorter hoses). Third it was to have valve near the rear of the tractor to use with a 3 point wood/log splitter.

But you have a very good point:
1- easy to install
2- hidden hoses

Maybe a little less ergonomic but we don't often play with rotation when we look behind. I can install a secondary valve into the wood splitter. Also I will be able to use the actual oil driveline on the FEL post valve to supply oil to the new one.

thanks! For your comments

The remotes I have seen on B21’s have had the valves mounted to a bracket that was clamped to the right rear roll bar post. I run my log splitter off of the backhoe hydraulic connections. Most log splitters will have their own valve so only a supply is needed and the backhoe supply will work for that. You do need to connect your remote valves to a power beyond port and not to the backhoe hydraulic supply though. As you mentioned the diverter valve will not let the 3pt and backhoe supply work at the same time.

I was wondering why you have the canopy and front posts removed on your B21?

Was the braket home made or there is a OEM kit to install it? The canopy and front post are removed because the door of my garage have only 7 feet, the rear post was installed on the photo just to check the location of the valve. I planned to cut the posts to reduce the height of the canopy and alloud me to enter into the garage.

Here is photo of the 3-spool remote valve the dealer put on this
B21. It is made for Kubota by Gannon (Woods) and was used for
T & T, plus hydraulic rippers on a box scraper. My B21 also has
a 1-spool remote mounted on the FEL cross bar for a 4-in-1 bkt.

The 3-spool valve looks very OEM, the other one looks like a bit
amaturish, in terms of the installation.

I finally bought the valve. It is a Galtech joystick q45 13 g/min. I think that I will install it on rear right fender. I will remove the flasher to have additional space. I will curve a little bit the arm of the valve. To follow, I will send additional pictures when done.
