This started when I had a problem with my Ford 3000 tractor where it couldn't lift much weight with the 3 point or the front loader. I tracked it down to something inside the center section, under the seat. So I took the lift cover and cylinder off and found that the return pipe was broken. While in there I re-sealed everything, replaced the filter, and adjusted the draft and position control linkages per my manual.
That solved that problem, but now when in position mode, the 3 point won't lower completely. On a level surface, my grader box stops about 3" short of touching the ground. It works fine in draft mode. I took the side cover off and can access the position control adjuster, and tried shortening the adjuster road by one turn and it had no effect at all. I don't know what else to do with it, but I'm an out of work engineer and use this machine to make a living now, so I need to fix it fast. I'm a good mechanic, but am not that knowledgeable about this part of the tractor. If you have specific knowledge of this, and have any suggestions that would prevent me from needing to remove the entire assembly again, I would sure appreciate hearing them! Thanks, Jim
