Do I need to do that if the PSI of the 7 gpm pump is rated at 2000 psi and the
backhoe's operating pressure is 2250 psi? Would I still need an adjustable relief valve?
If your RV on the hoe is set too high (say 2250psi), your pump will be experiencing too much pressure. The
RV needs to bet set lower before you damage the new pump.
You almost certainly have an adjustable RV on the hoe. Take some photos of the valve and post them here.
It will be on one end or the other of the valve stack.
