Rolando, DO NOT operate your ToolCat on kerosene unless you wish to pay out the nose for major diesel engine and fuel injection pump repairs......also, #2 heating oil is NOT kerosene.

Thom, I don't understand. I thought that the only difference between diesel you buy at a service station and the off-road diesel you have delivered from someone like Lewis Oil here locally is that you're not paying the road taxes and perhaps getting a small volume discount. That's what I remember reading elsewhere on the forum. I wasn't talking about using #2 heating oil or kerosene.

Thanks Chris and Mouse,
1*The thing is, these filters are accessed from below, to replace the canisters and also they have valves below to drain sediment and water.
2*Do I understand correctly that you are running your diesel motors on kerosene?
3*I've read others discuss using No. 2 heating oil, is that the same as kerosene?
4*Is there a cost savings to using that over off-road diesel?
5*I doubt that I could use 300 gallons even in a year.
6*to avoid paying a fuel delivery charge, I need to buy more than 200 gallons.
1* That's why i attached my pump to the shelf like this as shown .

1*I neglected to state one fairly major advantage to delivery, a roughly 15 to 20% savings in cost over on-road diesel.
1*I still get such savings filling my 30 gallon drum delivered or not.

2 of the 3 off road suppliers here will top off my 30 gallon drum when they are already delivering fuel in my area or going by place even though they have a 100 to 150 gallon Minuim delivery policy.
You need to check that out with your suppliers as it eliminates the need for an excessive large tank and the purchashing of more fuel than you can turn over in a short period of time.

2*He better not be if he don't want to blow it up?
3*Heating oil on road diesel off road diesel red diesel clear diesel fuel oil taxed un taxed:
All names for the same fuel. kerosene is not the same stuff as this.
4*Here Kerosene is higher than off road.
5*Then all you need is a 12 volt pump filter and a 55 gallon drum to go with your fuel walker.
6* I get around that by having them top off my 30 gallon drum whenever they are delivering in my area or just driving by my place. even though they have a Min delivery of 100 to 150 gallons.
Don't see why you couldn't do the same.
7*Heating oil and diesel are the same stuff but kerosene is a different thing.
