I have a Ford 555C 4x4 Backhoe with a 256 Turbocharged diesel that is having oil pressure issues so I want to drop the oil pan so I can inspect the rods and bearings. I have the front axle out, have big support bolts out, all pan bolts are out except the two in the very front of the pan. I have two questions:

1. Even if I remove the two remaining bolts from the front of the pan, I don't see how the pan will drop out at all. Do I need to pull the front of the tractor apart?

2. Is the block and internal parts (pistons, rods, bearings, etc.) the same as Non 256 turbocharged engines?

1. Yes. You would have been several hours ahead if you had left the axle attached to the bolster and split the bolster from the engine block.

2. Many parts are the same, some are different but similar.
