I recently tried to get my 54" MMM back on my 2305 and I can't get it back on. I did this a few times last year but it's been just about a year so I don't know if I'm doing it wrong or if the collar on the drive shaft has a problem.
When you hook the drive shaft up to the pto are you supposed to pull the collar back then push it on or does it just push on and then the collar locks into place? From what I remember I was thinking that you pull the collar back and then push the shaft on but when I try to pull the collar back it only moves about 1/16" so I tried just pushing the shaft on and that didn't work. I put some WD40 on the collar just in case it needed some lubrication to allow it to be pulled back but that didn't change anything.
I'm sure I'm missing something simple here that I just need someone to point out to me and then I will feel stupid but as long as I get the mower back on I can accept feeling dumb.
To make matters worse when I tried to roll the MMM under the tractor there wasn't enough clearance to get the deck under the tractor. That baffled me for a while but I figured out it is a combination of factors. For one the air in the tires was on the low side(16.5 psi) and the ballast box and loader were on the tractor further adding to the compression of the tires. Just thought I would mention this in case anyone else ever has the same problem.
