I have a wiring harness underneath the tractor that seems to have come apart. The harness has three wires running into it, in order: Black Red Orange. There are three loose wires right near it, red green and black. I figure that black and black go together, as to red and red, but I just want to be sure. The harness is under the tractor, just behind where the step on the "drivers" side is.

Can someone take a peek next time they are on their tractor and note which wires pair up?

Much thanks!

I'll be happy to look under mine tomorrow and see what I can see. I'll get back to you.

I looked at the schematic, and the only three wire connector in that area I can find goes to the mfwd speed sensor. It has a red, black, and orange wire. It does not show what colors are coming from the sensor though. Is everything working OK on your tractor? If something is not working properly, it might give a better clue as to where the wires go.

Well, I cant shift out of 4wd...Those three wires are terminated into a three wire harness. My problem is that there are no wires plugging into the other side of the harness, and three unharnessed wires that aren't connected to anything. I'll post pictures to make it easier to understand....

OK, here's what I saw under mine. Your red, green and red wire bundle is just like mine, except my black wire has a white stripe. The black/white wire connects through to the other black wire. The green wire connects through to the red wire (surprise) and the red wire connects through to the orange wire.

It also looks like there might be something missing on yours. On yours I see the black plastic connector has a white plastic piece on the end where the black, red, and orange wires connect. On mine there is a white plastic piece on both ends. I wonder if you will be able to reconnect your wires without this other white piece, or maybe the lack of it is why yours came apart. I can get a picture for you if it would help.

Hope this helps.

Yeah, I'm sure the harness is all busted up and missing pieces. I'll just rig up something to get them reconnected. Thank you very much for the help. Hopefully this will let me take her out of 4 wheel drive...
