So I am really new to tractors.

I have a Kubota L3400 HST 4x4. The implements I bought with it were a Kuhn tiller and a Bush Hog box blade. I have had it for two years now and love it.

I just bought a TSC middle buster plow for potatoes.

This is the one I bought:
CountyLine Middle Buster - 2128228 | Tractor Supply Company

Don't hold me to the measurements because I going by memory.
So my problem is that the top link hole on the plow is 7/8" diameter. The top link pins that I use with my tiller and box blade are 1/2" diameter. So if try to use a 7/8" pin for the top link it will be to large for top link. If I use a 1/2" pin I sure it will deform the hole on the plow.

So what do I need to do?

Thanks for the help.

I looked at the bushings there today. They won't work. The bushing they had for the CAT1 (inside diameter) was to large (outside diameter) to fit into the holes of the plow. I spent 20 minutes there trying different bushing and pin combinations with the plow. Nothing would work.

It would appear that the problem you are facing is the top link hole is to small, it should accept a 3/4" pin on the implement end.

Category 1 design standards call for 3/4" pins for the top link and 7/8" pins for the side links, pretty sure your new middle buster is set up this way.

And if it is a Cat0 it is 5/8, never heard of a 1/2 top link pin:confused:
Is that an OEM Kubota 3 point hitch and top link? Something isn't right here.....

I have that one. It is 3/4.

Given the diameter, I would try a piece of 1/2" galv. or black iron pipe for a sleeve.
Measure the length you need to fit outside face to outside face, tack into place. if you don't weld, make sure your top pin is not so long it will slide out onto protruding section.

Take a piece with you to the borg or hardware store along with your pin, I know the id is 1/2", just need to check od to be sure.

Good Luck

I have the same middle buster and bought it for a potato plow. I ran into the same issue with the toplink hole being a different size. I just ran it that way w/o the bushing as the bushing for cat 2 was too big, but the cat 1 pin was too small. My toplink is factory Kubota. I was wondering why they would have a hole a non-standard size.

Same here. I just use it as it is and have not had any problem with the top joint being too loose.

Sorry for the confusion. I have a normal Cat 1 top link and my box blade and tiller use standard Cat 1 top link pins so 3/4" in diameter.

The top link hole on the hole of the plow is 7/8" maybe more like 15/16".
