i have an older simplicity 4211H with a briggs 11hp i/c. starts up and runs full power great, but it seems i cant get any throttle response fdrom the lever once its running. im not missing anything according to the parts diagram. is there an adjusment? is it the governer? im lost on this, seems like its rpms are running high.

I am not sure what exactly you are saying.Older 11HP BS like to "seek" govenor. BS did make a different spring for the govenor to help with his. Adjust your low and high carb settings. Make sure all linkages are adjusted correctly and not bent way out of shape.

Sounds like a governor problem. Weak spring maybe.

This could also be from an air leak in the carb.

Do like Dave suggested and check the settings on your low and high rpm mix screws. You might also check these needle valves for wear. If someone tightened your low rpm mix screw in too tight during a rough tune-up and grooved it, it could be letting too much fuel in now.
