When I raise the 3 point attachment (regardless of what it is) all the way up, it bogs down the motor. When I let down just a little bit to where the engine will run normal, the attachment jerks like crazy. I'm not a mechanic at all but was wondering if this was something simple I could fix.
Thanks

When you raise all the way the lift cylinder is at the end of it's travel. The hydraulic system is still supplying pressure. Since the cylinder can't move any more the pressure will increase until the system relief valve opens. The load on the engine from the pump going to maximum pressure is why your engine bogs.

I understand that but this just started happening so is there a problem with the relief valve? It doesn't "release" pressure and is a constant bog on engine if I leave up.

Linkage adjustment. Three point is supposed to raise to a position controlled by your position lever. Top position is supposed to be set prior to the cylinder reaching the end of the stroke so the oil will never go over relief (unless you lift something greater than the lift capacity). Check the feedback linkage that may have come out of adjustment.
