Need help to decide on make, size, model. Have 11 acres, Cabinet shop. Need to lift 2000lbs of plywood to offload semi (forks?). Maintain road (rear blade?), Haul firewood/logs, brush-hog. Friends have Kubota's, they love them. JD's seem way over priced. Been considering Kubota and Kioti. Don't know anything about what are important features and what is standard fluff. Internet searches say they both are the best things since sliced bread. My use will be 50-150 hrs a year... maybe. Don't need new, but don't know what time/use factor becomes old and busted and nickel and dimes you to death. Therefore don't know what dollars are reasonable for make/hrs of use on them. HELP... ANYONE? Sooo many models!

I think I would stay above 50 hp and to be safer, more hp would be better. Ken Sweet

Welcome to TBN. What model does your friends have? 2000 lbs is a lot of lift. I have a Kioti that can lift 2785 might be right for you.

That 2000 pounds of plywood is a tall order. How does it arrive? 4x8 ? if you have to lift it from the 4 foot end, you'll need much more than 2000 # of lift as well as extra long forks.

May take a look at the Mahindra 4025 4wd also. Very cost efficient and will lift 2,850lbs on the front loader.

Sorry for being away so long... Thanks for your speedy reply!
He has a 33 hp Kubota hst. Been looking and talking. seems like a 40-45hp would be about right. kind of leaning towards the kioti 45 series. Don't know the differences between the c and the d platforms. What model do you have? Open to suggestions. Don't know what to look for and to avoid in a used unit.
Thanks!

C series tops out with less loader capacity than you need. Tractors don't depreciate much, certainly not in the first 15 years. Couple that with a warranty and the fact that you don't have much knowledge about buying used tractors and you have all the reason you need to buy a new one.
